Samsung has recently introduced its eco-friendly Blue Earth phone at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona. The Blue Earth is the first full touch-screen phone to be able to run on solar power. While it also utilizes efficient energy management and eco-friendly packaging it’s made of PCM, recycled plastic material extracted from water bottles. These features greatly help reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions that occur during the manufacturing process. A neat feature is a built-in pedometer for users to keep track of how much CO2 emissions has been spent by walking instead of motor transport.
